eye candy

I'm just drooling over these pictures this morning {thanks Lonny Magazine}. I couldn't sleep last night because I was dreaming of a potential new clients space I saw last night. So of course I start looking at every home decor magazine & design blog for inspiration. My mind is bursting with eye candy right now...

This bathroom makes me very happy... Love that sailboat painting! The middle kitchen with the chalkboard doors is such a winner in my books... How fun for a family! The last kitchen makes me feel very sophisticated... Don't you just want to throw a cocktail party in it? 

 On another note... I'm so excited for this weekend because!

1.) It's the Encinitas Street Fair this Saturday & Sunday {Stop by the rooster & say HI!}.

2.) I'm being whisked away by my sweet husband for a romantic getaway {much needed}.

3.) We're leaving for Palm Springs with the kids this Sunday... Yippee!

In my perfect little organized world I live in {ya right}... How cool would it be to have this when you went to the market. I would flaunt this Market list off like no tomorrow. I would accidentally drop it on the floor & yell out as I was picking it up, Oops I have to get my perfectly organized market list off the floor. Silly me! Ha a girl can dream... I feel awful because I didn't have anytime yesterday to photograph all the new accessories & furniture pieces that arrived at the rooster. From the moment I walked in the office... The phone was ringing off the hook, we had a constant flow of customers, I was in back to back meetings & my design clients were popping in left & right to chat about their jobs. Oh to top it all off... In the afternoon my mom had to leave to take my daughter to her ballet class. So as I was running the store front I was designing pillows with my seamstress. Thank goodness everyone knows us & understands that we're constantly moving & shaking! {lol} Something must have been in the water! Hey, I'm perfectly fine with that, but wow you should see my to do list {i'll call you back}. Thank goodness for my new assistant because she's starting to really take a load off my shoulders {thank you}. I'm not complaining about anything... I guess I'm just a rambling fool who's very blessed right now. I'm definitely very blessed! I know I'm blessed  but, when it rains it pours! To top everything off my  daughter decided yesterday afternoon to get sick. She's been fighting something since Saturday afternoon. Now I think its kicked in & caught up to my little angel.  Thank goodness Spring Break is next week for my kids. We're going away & having fun! Much needed for all of us. So please leave a message at the beep...

I'm planning my little angels 5th birthday party today. I saw this image last night in the blog world & couldn't help but smile! It's so cute, colorful & simple. I want  to do anything & everything for her... But, realize I really need to hold back because she's only 5. It's more the memories that count at this age than the quantity {or going overboard}. Believe me I'm usually the one to go overboard with everything... Christmas cards {that's a dinner & a drink conversation} to gifts to dinner party planning. Now, I'm trying to simplify & relax with a lot! Take things slow & enjoy life... To the fullest!  Thanks to my adorable husband for bringing me back down to earth {wink}! Can't wait to share all about Taylor's little princess party!

 Well, it happened... We had the long & anticipated Nutella party yesterday! Three little words best describe this get together... Perfect, Delicious & Silly.  I left for one in a total food coma & wanted to go home & sleep, but also educated on so many new & exciting Nutella recipes. Now my life is complete... Thanks girls! {lol}  There was peanut butter cookie Nutella sandwiches, Marbled banana bread with Nutella, Nutella cheese cake, Nutella stuffed pancakes, Nutella chocolate chip cookies, homemade Nutella stuffed into homemade croissants {amazing}... & so much more! Either you all are sick from reading this or drooling... Go with the drool! {wink}

welcome...

I've started a wonderful new interior design project recently  & I'm loving it.  Every detail on this house screams with character... Definitely a project right up my alley.  I was on the job site yesterday walking room by room figuring out sinks, faucets, lighting, hardware, colors, stains... Oh my! 

As I'm walking  through a clients house I pretend it's mine {hey a girl can dream}. I need my clients to know that I care about the job... Not just saying yes to everything & agreeing to agree with the  homeowner {they hired me for help}, but standing up when I believe a decision is incorrect.  I think that's how I got this job... I described in great detail the direction the house should go & wanted to change a few choices & bamn the contract was signed, sealed & delivered to my office.

Here's my description of the home...Craftsman + Nantucket retreat = Cardiff Classic! I'm helping the homeowner blend the two styles together without offending each other. I feel confident that I can accomplish just that.  By the way aren't you just in love with the exterior paint color?  It looks just gorgeous on the house. You should see it in person... Fab-U-Lus! The window trim &  doors  are still primer. I'm presenting 2 color choices next week... Can't wait to see them up. So many decisions to make! Keep you in the loop!

Doesn't this picture just give you the chills... I have to close my eyes right now when I see it {walk past it}! We've been doing some amazing & positive changes {hiring + re-arranging} at the rustic rooster. So the one that's been a long time coming is happening right now... The design office is getting a massive makeover! Oh she'll look so pretty when she's done! Yaaa I can't wait to be clutter free. Last August I really de-cluttered & went through tons & tons of files & fabrics...etc. That was a huge job. Being in business  almost 12 years you start to accumulate a lot of stuff! No Joke! So far with the re-design we have eliminated so much & cleaned up! It's a great feeling... Try it some time. You'll love it. Can't wait to show you the before & after photos.

Hmm is it 1 or 2? I keep going back & forth on which one to make for a little nutella party I'm going to this week. Lets just say I've been dreaming of nutella fields & mountains covered with nutella {looking for recipes}. OK I'm lame but, I'm really liking this stuff! My first bite I thought I was eating frosting & was completely grossed out, but kept on trucking!  Remember my post here. Well, a bunch of us decided we should have a "sugar only" eating party. Water please!  I would love your help... Which one should I make? I guess the real question is... What would you want to eat? Help?
