1| cut an orange into thin slices, then quarter each slice {set aside}
2| pour pink lemonade into molds halfway, then add two orange slices for each pop
3| continue to fill mold with pink lemonade

So if you had to make a list of 10 things you're so very thankful for... What would they be?  

  1. My children, Taylor and Ryan.
  2. My mothers love and true guidance.
  3. Having the best BFF ever to tell me when I'm being an absolute idiot and perfectly brilliant.
  4. Living in a little coastal town in  in San Diego.
  5. Working for myself and living the entrepreneurial dream.
  6. Being able to laugh and giggle all the time... Especially at myself.
  7. Never got a tattoo.
  8. I had a dad that lifted me up and made me want to be a better person in life. No joke he never put me down ever.
  9. That I can't lie and hurt people.
  10. That I could travel as a child with my family... And still love to travel as an adult! {many more adventures are in my future with me and my children} 

I could keep going on and on and on... But now it's your turn... Tell all!

happy father's day...

Ok, I'm going to be so straight forward and  honest with you all... I had the best dad ever! He was perfect, awesome, amazing, fun, protective, strong and never ever ever let a day go by without talking to me! No joke! I think my entire life I was spanked only once by him... And he was mortified that he did that. My mom and I still laugh because he felt so guilty for days because of that. He never cursed or even fought with my mom infant of us. never! If he was upset he would stop and re-analyze the situation. I'm not lying about any of this... He was an amazing cook, told the best stories where he would captivate you for hours and could dance to techno like no other human being.  Truly awesome! When he was dying of cancer and in extreme pain... He called me just to talk for fun and when I was upset, he only asked about me and my problems. He would listen and guide me the best way that he could. My father would hold my hand and say... I love you so much, you're beautiful... Never forget that! I was truly blessed... I did have the most AMAZING father ever. He believed that my brother and I were the greatest gift he was ever given in life so he treated us like gold! Thank you for being my dad! I cherish all the beautiful memories we had together! Thank you dad... I miss you like crazy!

drink up

Coffee table accessories are so fun... You really can display absolutely anything! Summer candles, winter books, fall pomegranates,  spring flowers... The skies the limit! I have an old brass container on my coffee table filled with what ever fresh greens that are in season from Trader Joe's... And the staple cup of coffee that starts my day {wink}. I can't put too much on my coffee table at this point because I have kids who still like to table dance, drop art projects on it and put their feet up during movie night. One day I will really be able to deck out my coffee table... Can't wait! What's on your coffee table...

dinner tonight

..Asian Beef with Mushrooms & Snow Peas..

    Homemade Asian Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup tamari (or low-sodium soy sauce)
  • 5 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
  • Beef:
  • 10 oz snow peas
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 10 oz mushrooms, sliced thinly
  • 1 pound beef, thinly sliced (sirloin steak strips, flank steak, or any other steak)
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  1. Combine all the sauce ingredients in a bowl - whisk to combine. Set aside.
  2. Bring water in a medium pan to boil. Add snow peas, boil them for 5 minutes, drain. Set aside.
  3. Heat a large skillet until hot, add 2 tablespoons olive oil - it should sizzle. Immediately add thinly sliced mushrooms - cook them on high heat, turning occasionally, until they brown nicely. Salt them midway, a little bit (not too much salt, as you will be adding tamari sauce later). Remove mushrooms to a bowl.
  4. To the same skillet, on high heat, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil, which will sizzle right away. Immediately add thinly sliced meat. You might want to do this in 2 batches, because you will want each slice of meat to touch the bottom of the skillet and for meat slices not to be crowded. This will ensure that meat will brown on high heat. Cook meat on one side until it browns nicely. Turn over all meat slices to the opposite side, and cook more, on high heat, until all slices brown nicely. Remove this batch to a bowl. Add a second batch of meat, and repeat.
  5. Return all of the cooked meat back to the skillet. Add the snow peas and cooked mushrooms, then the sauce. On high heat - stir everything to combine, for about 1 minute. Turn off heat. Cover the skillet with a lid.
  6. Serve over rice.

OMG breakfast has never looked so good to me right now {wink}! If I had a fridge and cabinet like the one above my breakfast meals would be scrumptious!  Ok, I have a confession to make... I'm obsessed with the fridge on top. I love the glass door front. I have a thing for organizing and displaying things. No joke I really want one... I remember a showroom manager at Ferguson telling me that I could get one for $13,000. No biggie right!?!?! Actually, I think that was even a floor sample sale price with a few dings. lol  I'll still take it. One day I'll make it happen... So what are your thoughts on fridges like this... Do you like them with glass? Yes or no?

progress peek {interior design}

I'm back at it! Yes, I can say the 2 magic words again, "I'm working"... WOW, that feel so good! I had meetings last week that were so fun and exciting. Here's a peek of a dining room that I started a few months ago, but with my move, my client and I agreed that I slow down and finish my office unpacking and get settled into my new space... Now onto completing the dining room. This transformation will blow you away. From dark and dramatic to extremely open and bright. Now that's music to my ears... Can't wait to show you how it ends! I think you will like this dining room transformation!

touch the rainbow

* rainbow donuts *

Yield: 6 donuts 
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 6 tbsp milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 tbsp vegetable/canola oil
  • 4 rectangles of vanilla candiquik
  • 1 tbsp vegetable shortening
  • Fruity pebbles, sorted by color (you don’t need to sort the entire box)
  • Shredded coconut, small amount
  • Paint brush, new - never used before
  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Spray a donut pan with cooking spray, use a paper towel to lightly spread/remove excess spray.
  2. In a large bowl combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  3. In another bowl combine the milk, egg, vanilla, and oil until well blended. Stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mix just until combined.
  4. Transfer the batter to a large piping bag or use a ziploc bag with one corner cut off. Pipe the batter into the donut pan, filling each donut hole about 2/3 full.
  5. Bake the donuts for 10 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let the donuts sit in the pan for 10 minutes before moving them to a wire rack to cool.
  6. Remove the donuts from the donut pan and place them on a wire rack to cool.
For the base icing of the donuts
  1. Melt the vanilla candiquik with the vegetable shortening in a microwave safe bowl. I like to place the candiquik and vegetable shortening in a small saucepan over low heat and melt the chocolate that way. You could microwave the candiquik and vegetable shortening on 50% power for 2 minutes, stirring every 20-30 seconds, until melted.
  2. For dipping the donuts, it's easiest to transfer the melted chocolate to a small shallow dish, but large enough to fit a donut in. While hanging onto the edges of the donut, dip each donut into the chocolate and pause for a few seconds while the donut is upside down to allow to excess to fall off. Allow the donuts to cool on a cooling rack completely before adding the fruity pebbles.
Fruity Pebbles
  1. Keep the chocolate warm during this process. The melted chocolate will act as ‘glue’ to hold the fruity pebbles on. Beginning with the red fruity pebbles, paint on a small amount of white chocolate then stick the red pebbles on. Continue this process until all of the red pebbles are on. Repeat with the rest of the colors - orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.
  2. Once the rainbow is finished, paint on some white chocolate underneath both ends of the rainbow and add the shredded coconut.
  3. Enjoy and store the extras in an air tight container.

summer loving


It's time to truly shine like the stars in what ever you do... Summer is here {insert smile}! I'm so thrilled because I can't wait to plant, entertain and run my toes through the warm hot sand. Ahhh I love that feeling! Being free and so alive! I'm definitely going to try to keep my garden blooming {cross your fingers} this summer... I have a tendency to over water and talk too much to them. So technically I'm a black thumb... Not a green one! hahaha Don't you just love this dutch door... So welcoming and fresh! At least if my entry is welcoming maybe no one will look at my dying plants {wink}.

absolutely perfect

When you find someone to help you with your children.... All your troubles go away. No joke... Literally they go away! The feeling of comfort is such a blessing. I know being a very involved and dedicated mother you worry if your kids are safe, having fun and protected when you put them in the hands of someone else. So last summer I was blessed to have found the most amazing summer nanny ever! No joke... Amazing!!!  I think once again my dad was looking over me and said... OK I found you a young lady to watch your kids that will love them just like you do. Yes, I found "the chosen one"! Theresa... You came into our lives for a reason and are still in it for a reason! Thank you! Unfortunately,  this summer we are so sad to say we don't need her full time. Taylor and Ryan are in summer camps.... Which wouldn't fill her schedule to make money to go to Europe this winter. If you're in need of a fabulous summer nanny... Theresa is your girl!
