totally legit

Well, I've been a little pre-occuied with this handsome guy! Last Friday was Ryan's last day of Skateboarding Camp at the YMCA, Encinitas. He loved it! No joke everyday this kids would come home in love with skateboarding and eager to get back to camp the next day... Of course exhausted from his daily adventure. Well, on the last day of camp all the parents were invited to watch their kids show off their skills that they learned. Well, Sean and I were there prompt and ready to watch Ryan shine. Oh we were proud parents... Yes, the ones that are yelling from the sidelines... "Oh ya!"... "Way to go Ryan"... "Oh my you are awesome!!!!" Shining from ear to ear with pride that he could drop in and he's only 6.

{he's only 6}

Let me remind you... Sean and I have let our kids do any sport that they would like... If they love it go for it. Yes, sometimes my heart will skip a beat, but you know what, if it makes them happy... Go for it! Ryan was 2 when he stole a bike {yes, stole a bike} from a park and started riding  it and yes 2 1/2 when he started skateboarding with his father. How could I tell him no now... Nope! I only encourage and put a smile on my face! If he comes home with a tattoo or piercings then you will hear me scream and pass out! Sorry, don't be mad at me that I said that...

Well, the point of this post is... Ryan fell on his wrist and broke it last Friday. Everyone kept saying OMG you must have been freaked out and your heart i'm sure stopped. Actually no... It was such a simple and small fall I didn't think anything of it... Until he wouldn't stop crying and then I felt him shaking. That's not my boy. He never really cries... So we knew something was wrong. After Sean put him in my car... We drove directly over to Scripps ER. Yup, he broke his wrist alright. It was a clean break thank God. No re-breaking and no surgery... Phewwwwww!!!!!!

{actual footage of ryan's fall}

So now Ryan is totally legit! He has a real cast and can say... Yup, i'm so cool I fell and broke a bone! Ok parents it's ok for kids to fall and break bones... They will be ok! One thing you need to remember is to encourage them to get back out in the game after an accident happens. Ryan wants to skateboard again. Yes!!!!! So if you see him... High five him and say, Rock on {wink}! I was just doing a lot of cuddling this weekend... Not blogging! If any moms with wild and tough boys have any non-water sport activities please let me know. I need help to keep him busy for 2 weeks until his waterproof cast goes on. Tell all... Help please!!!!!!

summer whites

Oh white how I love you so... People always laugh at me when I walk into the office wearing white. Hello, it's like the white slipcovered sofas and chairs... You can bleach it! So easy {wink}!  I love feeling crisp, fresh  and very clean. I bet living in a white house that same feeling would come over me. Yes, I've always wanted a white house... Ok with either seafoam or black shutters to give a little pop of color. White shells, white houses, white flowers and white dresses are a must this summer... What's your take on white? Do tell!

wake up... wake up... wake up...

OK COFFEE YOU HAD BETTER KICK IN TODAY... I NEED YOU SO BAD TO RUN THROUGH MY VEINS AND WAKE ME UP! OH my last night was sure a wild one... Wait it was actually morning time.  We have new neighbors {vacation rental} a few houses down who decided to have a party till about 2:00am, then the police department decided to look for someone with a helicopter at 4:00am. WOW, that's so fun to wake up to spotlights in your backyard... Freaky! Of course I jumped up to make sure the kids were fine and all snug in their beds! Checked every door and window 10 times to make sure they were locked and closed. Ahhhhhh Hello I thought I lived in a safe little beach town. What's going on Encinitas? The whole helicopter thing happened last Saturday during the day too... What's up Encinitas!?!?!?! If it's all the vacationers... I think it's time for you all to go home. Hey bloggers... If you live in Encinitas what happened? Please share...

east coast love {interior design}

I always love working with clients that are from the East Coast. I think I understand them... Of course as you all know I was born and raised in California, but a lot of my family either went to school back east or live there now. I worked on the Cape and secretly wanted to move to Boston. I love everything about it there... Maybe one day {wink}!

With this client I needed to add a few finishing touches to each room...  From the French market basket holding extra sofa pillows to the brass hardware on the mudroom and kitchen cabinets to the custom seat covers with blue welting to tie in the family room rolled arm sofa to hanging seafans up in a fun pattern. Now Everything starting to coming together as planned... I love this home. The feel so comfortable and fresh. Who wants to complain about that?

work + play

Who says you have to work and not have any fun in the office... No way!  You need to love what you do... Especially where you work. Work should be about leopard heels, nutella croissant sandwiches, gorgeous white blooming roses and an amazing carriage house as an office space. Hello... Of course it should! I would be so productive!!! I know this is my perfect work + play  space!  Having fun and enjoying yourself really can help your productivity. I do believe!  I notice when my offices is clean, I dress as stylish that I can and I eat something delicious... I'm on fire at the office!!! Actually yesterday I wore my new Rikshaw dress,  ate a fabulous salad from Seaside Market... OK truth... And a huge original chocolate chip cookie {OMG do die for}... And kicked butt with my assistant. I love these days! So here's some advice... Keep your chin up and start each day like it's your last. Laugh, Love and LIVE! Oh working hard doesn't hurt either... {wink}

have fun...

you go girl... cheers

Just picked this book up last night at Barns and Nobles... I couldn't put it down after I put my little ones to bed! OH my!  Loving the fact that Sophia never went to business school... Never followed the norm... Stayed on her own path and definitely fell on her face throughout her entire adventure {process}... Picked herself up and learned from her mistakes and grew so much from it all! My father never went to school... Never had a formal business education. He was extremely successful entrepreneur... Owned tons of real-estate and had a very successful business {store/online business}! Trial and error... Is the best teacher!  I'm not saying education is bad... I went to college. Got my bachelors degree at San Diego State University in Interior Design... But to be honest with you I have learned so much more on my own in the workforce. My father said to me... Try this for 2 years, if it doesn't work, stop and move on to something else. That's the best advise ever... Thanks Dad!  Hello... Almost 15 years later!!! The rooster has gone through tons of ups and downs... But you know what we have that no one else has... A kind, respectful, caring, loving, devoted family business!!!!!! Can't wait to finish this book... Hopefully tonight. Go get it if your ready for your "girl" adventure!!!!!!
