all in a rainy day

Well, yesterday was one of those days... Cold & very rainy. I dread those days because when you coop up 2 young kids with tons of energy inside it gets very very bad {out of control}. So I tried to plan a few things before hand {thanks forecast for preparing me}... By the way this is a first for me. I usually just wing it, day by day.

Lego party {everywhere} for Ryan

Beads, beads & more beads for Taylor to make tons of necklaces. {thanks Santa} Ryan tried , but I ended up making his for him. Not my idea of fun.

Creation # 1 {necklace} & Creation # 2 {bracelet}
I made Chocolate chip cookies... OH my they were delicious! Not a good idea when you're cooped up. I pretty much ate most of them. What ever they were so good!

Made a few beds... Taylor's new bedding from Pottery Barn. So cute!

Ryan dressed up... & drank! I wish I could have done that. {lol}

Then we met up with Taylor's good friend's Chloe...

They were all bundled up because we were going ice skating!

OK I haven't been ice skating in years... The last time I think I was in skates was high school. I like to think that was yesterday, but wow that was ages ago. It was a mad house yesterday.. So many kids & parents. But sure fun! You could feel the little kids excitement in the air.

Taylor & mommy in our skates. Looks like we have moon boots on.

Susan & Chloe on the ice

Taylor & I having a blast!

The girls were so annoyed with me because I was taking a gazillion pictures of them. Taylor kept saying mom you always do this... Hurry up & lets skate.

Then this guy {Ryan} really wanted to get in on the action. I felt awful because he was just watching on the sidelines with Teresa. I didn't want to take him on the ice because I thought he would hate it. OK you can't do that to a little one when everyone is having a blast. Lesson learned! I mustered up the courage got him a pair of skates & took him out on the ice too.

He loved it... No joke I couldn't stop him. I really tried to get a picture but, ever time I would say top & take a shot he would run after me & say, lets go! So here he is! I so didn't plan the Adidas running suit for him. He looked like a true skater on training day. lol

Look close Ryan & I are skating away... Impressive for only 2 1/2 years old

Families that skate together stay together!

By the end this is how I was skating with Ryan... Taylor was skating all on her own. Pretty impressed. She has definitely been bit by the skating bug. Oh Gosh I hope she doesn't want to start training. I can't get up at 4 am. Of course I would do it for her... {please no, please no}

If you live in the San Diego area
you must go to the UTC shopping mall & go Ice Skating at
Be prepared to have f.u.n... The Scully clan we'll be back!

i am a winner

Finally... I won something!!! I was so excited to hear that I won these beautiful earrings over at La Feem {check her blog out here}. They're gorgeous!!! Funny thing is my husband who has no real care about the blogging world found out before me. Crazy what a small world we live in! I was working Christmas Eve at the rooster... My kids came in to say hi & Sean announced to me that he ran into some girl by the name of Heather at Seaside Market & I won the earrings. At first I looked at him weird & questioned what are you talking about... Then I put two & two together & almost jumped over the counter with excitement. I think I scared 1/2 the people in my store. {sorry} Oh I'm so excited! Thanks Heather for offering such beautiful earrings as a giveaway!!!! Yaaa I am a winner!!!

what i really want {need}

Is a professional, down to business, grown up, very serious bra fitting. Sorry, If I've offended or turned off any male readers... But, this is really important to a woman. Well, to me at least. {lol} After I had kids I believe I did the opposite than most woman... I went down in the breast department. I've never been a breast woman. I have never cared or really noticed mine or others. No Joke... But all of a sudden I've been waking up in the middle of the night panicking that my breasts are shrinking. So I think it's time for a good old fashion bra fitting {to put my mind at ease}. So do any of you know of a good place to go to? NO... I'm not going to Victoria Secrets to have a teenager size me... I want a fully trained fitter. Ha I bet you all never thought you would wake up to read this post! Good Morning my blog readers! {insert huge smile}

date night

And we're off... Sean & I are going on a date tonight. A very well deserved date! With our busy schedules & Christmas events we're ready to run away together {for an hour or 2}. I can't wait! 1... To be alone with my adorable husband & 2... To eat at the new Searsucker. I heard about this restaurant from my dear friend Kim {JPR} who does their PR. Oh I can't wait!
Shhh I'm also excited to see the interior design too! These pictures are fabulous!

out of office reply

The rooster chicks have flown the coop!

rustic rooster will be closed…

Saturday, December 25th
Through
Monday, January 3rd
{back open January 4th, 10am to 5pm}

Every year we take a moment to relax & enjoy our family. I think sometimes we forget what's most important to us... Too much work can only make us tired & grumpy {believe me I'm a victim to this}. Going into our 11th year of business we have "semi" figured out the key to the roosters success... Take a moment to enjoy life & stop working!

rustic rooster hopes we haven't inconvenienced anyone. We'll be back open with bigger smiles, warmer hearts & better customer service! We will have slept {i try too with my 2 animals}, ate, drank a little, lounged in sweat pants, & play with my kids!

So with all that said...
We look forward to seeing you in the New Year!
WOW... 2011.
{i'll hopefully do some blog posts while the store is closed}

night elf

Sorry my pictures are a little dark & bad... I delivered furniture last night to one of my favorite clients homes. OMG I can't even tell you how happy I was! 1.) Everything fit 2.) Everything look gorgeous & 3.) My clients were thrilled!!!! That's music to my ears. I do have another delivery to the house today with more furniture. I'll take better pictures & show you all.
This time of year is very stressful for me... With deliveries {thank you Craig}, customers at the rooster, re-paint jobs & my own Christmas shopping. Year after year I manage to always pull it off... Thank goodness! So far this little night elf is very happy right now!

can't stop thinking of you

I was reading through my blog roll the other morning... & stumbled upon this kids bedroom from a dear friend of mine, Grace {grace happens}. I'm so in love with it! Every part of this room makes me drool. No Joke! Romans, wall color, pine armoire & bed, bedding, fabric, built-ins... E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G! This is my kind of room! Hey... Move over kid mommas moving in!!! Grace thank you so so much for posting it {wink}! Got another picture for my kids file. I Love it!!!

ahhh the joys of children

It was a chilly December night... Not a cloud in sight! The kids were singing Christmas songs as I baked little Gingerbread men. The fire was roaring, but something was missing... OH a Christmas Tree. I had a brilliant idea... Lets go buy a Christmas Tree tonight. I loaded my little precious angels in the car all snuggled in their jackets & scarves. OH it was such a magical night! Then I had another idea... I could take a gorgeous picture of my children in front of our newly purchased Christmas Tree. OH how glorious... Well, here's how the evening went down...

Ahhh the joys of children... As you can see the night didn't end the way I thought it would. Mommy didn't get a Christmas card photo! I just got a strong drink {just kidding} & a huge head ache!
Good times with the Scully children!
{no children were harmed in this photo shoot... i did want to kill them though}
