I'd been delaying an office project for a little while now, just so I could find the perfect furniture pieces & accessories for the room. I was struggling to nail down the right items. Everything I saw out there was so new & typical. Then I saw her...   An old reclaimed barn wood cabinet. You know some people say when you cross over to the other side, "Heaven", you see angels, everything is glowing & you're finally relaxed... Well, this piece did it for me.

My mother was on one of her buying trips &  found this vintage set of Britannica Encyclopedias. She called me to let me know what she had... I screamed & said, Sold! I was definitely on cloud nine after that call because every office needs a set! The binding on these books are exquisite.

me & my baby

Well, this weekend me & my baby ran the Encinitas 1k together. I can't even tell you how excited Taylor {& mommy} was to do this little run... Originally I was going to have her do the 5k with me, but decided to start her off small. Test the waters... See if she even liked to run with out stopping. Oh my gosh Taylor ran the entire 1k & faster than me. I was cracking up the entire run. I think we have a little runner over here! Ya  Can't wait til next year... Watch out Encinitas 5k here comes Taylor Michelle {maybe Ryan too}!

Here she is as promised this morning! Isn't this master bathroom lovely? {wink}  Kelly thank you so much for graciously letting me post your before  bathroom pictures. I'm thrilled about this job... It's going to be so much fun! The changes are going to be tremendous. Knocking down walls, ripping out lights... Wow I'm sweating just thinking about all of this. As you all know me I will go to bed tonight & have a dream about this bathroom. {lol}  What's wrong with me? Enjoy all the before pictures... Next I'll indulge my ideas for this room.

i'm alive

I was truly & utterly exhausted yesterday... I'm sure it didn't help that I didn't eat lunch & sipped a Starbucks coffee all day. Real smart! Sorry, I've been a little m.i.a. lately. I have this huge to do list at work that I've been chucking away at. So far so good! Plus, Taylor's going to Kindergarten this August so I've been spending a lot of  time with her. My emotions are at an all time high right now. I can't believe how time just passes by so fast...  Next she'll be in college.  Oh my little baby isn't a baby anymore! {omg} 

On another note... So many new &  exciting things have been taking place at the rooster. I can't even stand it!  For one I've been in meeting after meeting with new interior design clients & to add too my craziness I've been photographing all my old & new clients homes. Have you noticed on my website I've removed all of our portfolio pictures? Yup, they're gone! New & improved pictures are coming.  I've teamed up with a fabulous photographer to help me capture the exact image I would like to portray {thanks Amy}. Just wait, the shots from yesterdays shoot are amazing! 

Second, the rooster has so many new accessories coming in. Mom &  I were laughing just yesterday, saying it's going to be like Christmas this week when the new products start arriving... Thanks Santa! {lol}

 

Third, I really want to show you my before & after {design jobs} photos. I'm going to get better with all that. Sorry {wrist slap}!

mirror mirror on the wall

I'm loving this bathroom! The entire feel of this  room sets me into a very calming state of mind... I'm relaxed & loving it! I bet if I had this bathroom my kids wouldn't scream, my makeup would be prefect & I could take many bubble baths at peace. Isn't it funny how one picture can set your mind racing into a wondering state of creative dreams.
