part I {los angeles}

Have you ever just craved traveling so much you could taste it with each sip and bite you take? Recently I've been l o v i n g watching my friends go on their adventures with their family and seeing all the fun places they're going to... I started taking notes {2017 new years resolution goal #5}! One of my dear dear friends went to the Farmers Daughter Hotel a few years back and raved about it! She said, it's definitely a funky little hotel in Los Angles. You will love it for its quirkiness. So the perfect opportunity for me came up to make a reservation at that hotel. I was surprising my son with Los Angles Kings Hockey tickets at the Staples center so of course we needed a fun place to stay. The timing was perfect because it was also my kids Spring Break!
From the moment we got to the hotel we were captivated by its ambiance, funky decor and definite quirky surroundings. The kids and I took it all in!

Every inch of this hotel was pretty fun... Not going to lie I wished it had a Jacuzzi, but I survived {wink}
I sat and lounged a lot... And enjoyed  every minute of it! I did notice how independent the kids were on this trip. Not going to argue with that!

Of course our main source of food was at the Farmers Market. I grew up going there as a child with my family. That was a very common  outing for us... My dad practically lived there and took us all the time. His office was on the Westside. So on this trip I decided to take my kids... And we ate our hearts out! Actually till my pants got too tight... No joke! hahaha
You should read the history of the farmers market {history here}.
If you haven't been to the Los Angeles historic Farmers Market you have to go! Get ready for overwhelming choices, delicious aromas and fascinating people to watch! Beyond fun!
I stopped by my favorie stores and drooled over everything... And definitely took notes for the rustic rooster's next Coastal Alley SALE! {hint hint}
We wrapped up our visit to the Farmers market and said h e l l o  to Jones on Third! It's one of my friends I knew in High school her families business. Too die for... Everything about Jones is absolutely wonderful! The decor, the food, the treats... No joke everything is amazing!

Taylor and ryan gobbled down their food... Ryan's so picky and would pretty much only eat donuts and fries all day long if he could. Not at this stop. Ryan loved it and truly could eat more if I would let him. Plus, it was so fun seeing Susie and the entire family working when I walked in... Such a treat to catch up with everyone! I love family run businesses especially ones that are beyond successful!
Then on to our next adventure... The kids and I went to the La Brea Tar Pits

I went there as a child so many times! Drove past the pits almost daily. I can still remember driving in my dads truck down Wilshere Boulevard. On this adventure I was defiantly flooded with memories of my dad... I actually felt he was with me and my little ones. So weird, but every turn I made I could hear him and feel his presence.

The La Brea Tar Pits has changed for the better... Or I guess I grew up a little!  All I know is that the kids had a great time as well. Going to museums isn't Ryan's thing, but he actually liked this one. Thank God {smile}!

As the day ended we went back to the hotel and got ready for The Kings Hockey Game at the Staples Center!

I'm not a huge hockey fan, but will do pretty much anything for my littles. I do admit this game was pretty cool... Or it might have been the crowd participation and interesting characters that were there. The fans next to us were hysterical...
I didn't get the closest seats, but truth they were beyond awesome! We were all the way to the back wall {no joke}. At first I was a little nervous where we were located... And the players were little ants. I started laughing and sad to the kids well, here's another memory for the books. In the end those were the best seats ever!

So of course our adventure didn't end there... I started following a lot of popular and hip eateries on instagram {all over}. This ice cream store was on my top priority list to stop into. Well, we sure had a treat here.... Beyond delicious! The combinations of flavors were heavenly. This little ice cream store is called Salt and Straw. I went to the Larchmont location because I knew it was on our way home to San Diego...

Well, that's all folks! Hope I haven't bored you all. For those of you who stuck around... Thanks for following along on our Part 1 {Los Angeles} Spring Break adventure! I'll post Part 2 hopefully soon... That adventure was in Santa Barbara!

Happy Friday everyone!!!
