Don't get scared . . .

I can't stop laughing . . .
Here's a picture of my bathroom when we first bought our place in Encinitas. We've done a few cosmetic adjustments to it . . . Like paint, remove all of the crazy extra cabinets, added a custom mirror & cabinet, put wains coating up and added new lighting . . . But we're ready to do another huge overhaul. We actually need to because the original tub (as you can see in the picture) is leaking into our neighbors closet. Just Great! I can't wait to show you what we do . . . wait for the pictures!

Isn't this picture hysterical . . . I think I'm going to post all the pre-pictures of my place to show you what we got ourselves into. We have changed our house so much. I love doing this stuff! Now I need to win the lotto. Hee Hee

Time to play

Well, the rooster kids need a little time to play . . . So yesterday mom and I and my little Scully gang went up to the Carlsbad outlets. We wanted to do a little damage. I wasn't that bad at all . . . Mom on the other hand got some good stuff! I actually ended up returning some things. Here are a few fun photos of Taylor and Ryan on the rides. I did realize that taking Taylor & Ryan out after 4:30pm is definitely witching hour and torture. Taylor she can handle going out, but Ryan OH My Gosh . . . I felt like I was in a nightmare and it wouldn't stop. No more Mr. Ryan . . . No more you will be confined at home till nighty night time!

OH MY GOSH!

Yesterday afternoon we received a HUGE new furniture shipment . . . This white vintage cabinet/wardrobe grabbed my attention super fast when I looked at the truck! I AM SO IN LOVE! It's perfect . . . I went straight home to measure my kids room because I wanted a bigger wardrobe for their clothes, books and toys. I love the color & look . . . I want it! Well, it's to big for the kids room. . . So someone will be very lucky with it. It would look amazing in a playroom, office (perfect to get organized), guestroom, bathroom, pantry . . . So many choices!!!!!!!!! Who ever gets this, I will be so jealous!

She put two and two . . .

I finally got the last of my Mother's Day gifts from Taylor & Ryan this afternoon. My first gift from Taylor on Sunday was a beautiful painting that she did all by herself (Thanks Miss Sandy & Miss Kathy!).

Original artwork by Taylor Michelle Scully.
This will be framed ASAP . . .

Then I went over to my mom's house yesterday to pick Taylor up because they had an adventure to go on after school (to pick up my mother's day gift). Taylor picked out some Pineapple salt and pepper shakers . . . She told grandma the reason why mommy needed them was because we have a pineapple pillow in the living room. Wow, Taylor I love it . . . Pretty clever for a 3 year old to put two and two together.

My new Pineapple Salt and Pepper Shakers . . .

The Pineapple Pillow in the living room.

To end yesterday on a fun note . . . These are my two adorable rug rats in the bath screaming and yelling. Wow, my ears are still ringing. Ryan thought Taylor was hysterical and then she scared him. They're possessed children! But, I wouldn't trade them for the world

They both are done for the night . . .

Vaaa Rooommmm

Ryan just got this little all natural wood tri-cycle for his 1st Birthday . . . Thanks Jan & Brian!!! Ryan loves it!!!! I do have to say Taylor loves it too. We had a little bit of a battle after it was put together. Ahhhh the joy of children. Back to Ryan . . . He's just getting the hang of it. I found him this morning on it backwards and having fun. He thought that it was normal to ride it backwards. Too funny! I would have taken a picture but, I left my camera in the car. I hate that and it would have been a great shot. Once again . . . Thanks Jan & Brian, Ryan LOVES it and we do too!!!!!!!!!!!

Too Cute!

My precious little baby went to Legoland with my mom on Saturday . . . Too cute! Here are a few shots of her ready for the big adventure with grandma. I really wanted her to wear a hat so she would be double(sunscreen too) protected from the sun . . . and she did. In the past it's like pulling teeth for her to wear one. She Loved it & didn't want to take it off! Yaaaaaaaaa I won! Shhhhh we wont let her know that! Thanks Miss Taylor Michelle Scully for being too Cute! Love ya!

Memories of the Coop . . .

Today is a day of memories and looking back for me . . . I have had a lot of people come in to the rooster and ask about our kids section . . .

- Do you still have it?
- Where is it?
- Can I still get kids furniture from you?

- Can I order Kids furniture?
- I want to customize a kids bed . . . Can I ?
- Ahhh . . . I loved the Chicken Coop!
- The chicken coop was too adorable & perfect!
- Why, Why, Why . . . Why!

The answer is YES you can always still get kids furniture from us. All of our furniture can go in a kids room (of course not a dining/kitchen table or a coffee table). That was also a problem . . . People thought that the Coop was only for kids. Nope not at all. We had dressers, armories, desks and even nightstands that would look good in any part of a house. Sorry, we didn't explain ourselves correctly! Next time we will be better . . .

I design my infant/toddler/children's rooms for my clients so that the child can grow with the room. Buying furniture every few months or even every few years can get pretty pricey and not everyone can afford that so be smart and use a dresser that will grow with your child . . . Etc. Yes, of course you need a crib but, all of your other furniture doesn't have to be baby baby. I bet you can tell I'm not a huge fan of Babies 'r' us . . . etc. That was also the point of the Coop . . . Getting people to be practical with kids furniture, but still have fun with it!

Vintage armoire/cabinet . . . used as a kids closet.

Vintage Cabinet . . . Used as a changing table.

I wanted everyone to see a picture of the coop before we said good bye to it. Too cute! It was set up pretty well . . . I say so myself! (I did it . . . Hee Hee!)

For those of you who don't know why we closed the coop . . .

- I was pregnant with my second child and extremely sick. I wish I could say I was just a little nauseous but, I can't stop throwing up (Thank God for Zofran!) when I'm pregnant. Not doing that again . . . ! I wasn't dedicated to the Coop . . . I was so tired and done!

- Plus, the rustic rooster Interior Design department was taking off and really expanding and we needed the space for more fabric, design materials, project table (to work on) and a place to meet with the clients so that was the perfect space and it was the perfect time.

I have a feeling it will be back . . .
Stay tuned for the
Chicken Coop!

Looking Back

I was looking through my portfolio today at the office and saw this master bedroom I did a little while back for an amazing client/friend . . . It makes me want to come over to her home and just curl up in a chair with a cup of hot coffee and a good romance novel. I need a night like that!

Hey, Donna I can house sit!
