She's not your average florist that does the run of the mill arrangements... She crates and fascinates her clients. Adrianne's arrangements have a touch of class and style that no one else can mimic! My jaw always drops and I'm instantly glowing with happiness when I see her work...

rustic rooster {menu}

I have a sick little baby girl at home today... Of course I'm going to make her Chicken and Rice soup! Who doesn't like soup when they're sick... Poor baby! Hope you all are well... Eat clean and drink tons of water with lemon!!!!! Enjoy this recipe...

INGREDIENTS

• 1 whole chicken (3 to 4 pounds), skin removed
• 1 1/2 pounds (9 to 10 medium) carrots, peeled and halved crosswise
• 1 pound (5 to 6 medium) parsnips, peeled and halved crosswise
• 4 celery stalks, thinly sliced crosswise
• 2 large onions (about 1 pound), halved and sliced
• 2 bay leaves
• 2 garlic cloves, smashed
• 1 tablespoon whole peppercorns
• Coarse salt
• 1 1/2 cups long-grain white rice
• 6 scallions, white and green parts separated and thinly sliced

DIRECTIONS

1. STEP 1

   In a large soup pot, combine chicken, carrots, parsnips, celery,onions, bay leaves, garlic, peppercorns, and 1 teaspoon coarse salt. Add water to cover by 2 inches. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium. Simmer partly covered, occasionally skimming and discarding fat from surface, about 1 hour.

2. STEP 2

   With a slotted spoon or tongs, remove chicken, carrots, andparsnips from pot; set aside. Pour remaining contents of pot through a fine-mesh sieve into another large pot; discard solids, and bring broth to a boil. Add rice and white part of scallions. Reduce heat to medium, and simmer, uncovered, until rice is tender, about 20 minutes.

3. STEP 3

   Meanwhile, remove chicken from bones, and shred into bite-size pieces (discard any fatty or discolored parts). Cut carrots and parsnips into bite-size pieces. When rice is cooked, return chicken, carrots, and parsnips to broth in pot; add green part of scallions. Season generously with 5 to 6 teaspoons coarse salt.

Trying to set the scene for a dinner party can either be extremely stressful or so very easy! You have many different layers to think of... What are you going to wear? Where are you going to have the dinner party... Outside or inside? What am I going to serve? Those are all very important questions to start with... Of course that take time to figure out. Then on top of everything you need to set it all up... OMG just typing this is stressing me out {smile}! As a designer all of these details are huge in my eyes... But one thing I can assure you, is to go simple and classic and you can never fail!  My mother used to always say to me as I was growing up... " Do not gild a lily! Less is best... Your beauty will shine when people can actually see you or what you are trying to accomplish." Elegance should be very smooth and easy. If you're struggle with it... Stop and reassess everything! You can do it...  That's my designer dinner party advise for the day!

Hello my blogger friends... Today is Good Friday, the Friday before Jesus Christ was nailed to the cross, and the 1 year anniversary of my fathers passing! WOW, a lot to take into today for me and my family... I'm not a very religious person, but after my fathers passing I've been drawn closer to my religion than ever. Some will understand, and some won't... And that's OK!  I'm not a preacher so I will leave it at that... But I do believe!!! Stronger than ever! 

On a more pretty pastel note... I love this pallet! It's so fresh and fun, but still on the calm and classic side. For Easter I hope to wear these tones. Plus, don't you just love this soft and delicate petal pink velvet mixed in with gold. Yummy! I'm upholstering a sectional for a client in a soft beige velvet. Heaven for your body and your soul...

Hope your Friday is filled with so much love and laughter...  Stay calm and carry on!

summer is near...

Getting ready for summer is definitely a fun, but daunting task... At least for me is is!  You want all new fresh summer clothes... A of course a healthy rocking body! Sometimes you get  50% or even 75% percent of that wish... But what I do know you can achieve is a new Turkish wrap! Oh My Gosh... They're absolutely to die for! We all couldn't stop trying out each wrap in the rooster. I fell in love!!! Plus, the fabulous thing about these wraps are that they can be used as table cloths, beach blankets, baby blanket covers and even bathing suit cover ups. Yes, please!!!!    Stop by and see for yourself... Be prepared for summer!!!!

seeing the light

Onward and upward is my attitude right now... I truly feel the weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Picture this, You've driven through a big snow storm. Every which way you look was solid thick white snow...  And then all of a sudden you see the light from the sky shining through... I'm breathing again! Having that feeling only puts a smile on my face. So I guess it's only natural for me to go towards this calm pallet... I love this feeling. What's your go to colors?
