brilliant bathrooms...

Have you heard the term nautical chic ? If you haven't, these bathrooms are the definition. They exude rustic character and warmth, filled with classic, vintage finds. Adding a few nautical touches to your space works wonders whether you live by the sea or are  landlocked. I definitely wouldn't mind getting ready to start my day in these rooms... Enjoy!

  • 1 TBSP thinly sliced scallions
  • Microgreensoptional

With tomato and everything bagel seasoning.

  • 2 slices of bread

  • 1/4 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • In a small bowl, smash the avocado. Add the lemon juice and a pinch of salt; mix well and set aside.

  • Once your bread is toasted, spread the avocado on both slices and add the smoked salmon to each slice.
  • Carefully transfer the poached eggs to their respective toasts.
  • Hit with a splash of Kikkoman soy sauce and some cracked pepper; garnish with scallions and microgreens.OR
Place slice of tomato on each toast, then hit the toasts with some everything bagel seasoning. Garnish with microgreens.

NOTES:

How to poach an egg:
Note: You'll want to poach your eggs individually.
Bring a small pot of water to a steady simmer. (Some people add a light splash of vinegar to the water; I've tried with and without, and I've never noticed a different, so I skip it.)
Crack your eggs into individual ramekins or small bowls.
With a spatula or large spoon, create a gentle whirlpool in the simmering water; this will help the egg white wrap around the yolk.
Gently tip the egg into the water whirlpool, white first. Cook for two minutes.
Carefully remove the egg with a slotted spoon.
Carefully transfer the egg to an ice bath for approx. 10 seconds to stop it from cooking (protein will continue to cook after it's removed from heat, so you want to ensure you get that runny silky yoke).
After a quick dunk into the ice bath, transfer your egg to a paper towel and gently pat it dry. Remove any wispy white egg with the edge of your spoon, and transfer to your plate.

lets read together...

I wish I could stay in bed all day today! Ahhhh... How nice would that be. Just think, a cup of hot coffee, a good book, and a cozy nook filled with tons of pillows! Sometimes just getting lost in a space is truly all you need to recharge yourself & with a really good book. Truth... Knowing me, I would pass out & sleep the day away. I guess that's the risk you take for having a cozy little reading nook!

Happy Friday... Any big plans this weekend?

dreamy...

All of this is just dreamy... And even dreamier that it's only a garage space! If people took a moment and focused on their garages, we would have a prettier world to live in. Just kidding... But I am in love with all the beautiful details of this garage space. If I had a garage I would add a climbing rose bush on it too!  So dreamy...

What would/could you do to improve your garage? Please share... Love to hear!
