f r i d a y... fun

So I've decided to try new things and go to new places as much as possible... Hey you only live once!  Sometimes you just have to get out of dodge {Encinitas} and have a little fun... So last night me and the littles decided to venture down to Point Loma, San Diego and go to the Liberty Public Market.  Fun! I follow them on my Instagram account and have been captivated with all of their fabulous drool worthy food photos and cool events.  FYI... Go and explore! I think you will have to agree with me... Its definitely a good place to venture to with friends and your kiddos! Oh yes... That's a chocolate chip cookie coming out of Ryans mouth {sorry}... My adventures with with my loves are a non stop laughing sessions! I think we took about 5,000 selfies and this one was the best. HaHa... Enjoy! Everyday I always give thanks to my adventure partners {i'm truly blessed}

{scully style}

I asked people what I should blog about because I've gotten bored and have run out of  ideas... Everyone said fashion/style posts. Ha Ha Not going to lie I started to chuckle a little because me talking about style is like me talking like I'm a true marathon runner.  It's all good... I love fashion/style and I love a good run! So I decided to put a few pieces of clothing and accessories together to show you what I think is fun at the moment for summer. I'm pretty simple and easy on what I wear...

First off my newest obsessions has been  Panama hats. I got my 2 Panama hats from the gap and J-crew {mens department}. I know you can get Panama hats really anywhere. I just saw a few at Nordstrom's Rack... They were wonderful! I have such a huge head so I can't just buy any one. It's a process for me...  So if you have a big head as well,  go check out J-Crew's mens Panama hats {here}.

Now lets talk New Balance runners... L O V E! About 3 years ago I got a cool grey pair that I wear all the time and still look great. yes the really look great {I don't run in them}! Then I stumbled upon a pink pair from Macy's. Pink really!?!? Not going to lie... They're fun and a little wild. Just what I need in my life {wink}. Now Taylor just got the navy blue New Balance pair from Sports Authority for no joke 30% off. Run because they're closing their stores all over and now everything is 80% off... Lucky! I was a little jealous over Taylor's new pair... But knew If I got another one I would really be "that" crazy lady!

Last but not least... I had a conversation with a dear friend about e-bay. She let me know about all the amazing deals that you can get on it. She always dresses so cute and has extremely nice things... When she told me she buys pretty much everything on e-bay {all the time}... I fell over! WHAT!?!? Well, of course I needed to check it out for myself. I'm a very impatient person when it comes to getting things I want... But realized I have always wanted the Cartier watch. When I saw the difference between a new {omg} and  then a slightly used one I about fell over... I've waited years for one... So I can wait a little longer and get the one of my dreams for a pinch of the cost! I'm so thrilled!

Hope your style world is complete now... lol Enjoy!

ole

Churros with Chocolate Sauce... Ole!

  • 1/2 cupsugar
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoonssugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoonsground cinnamon
  • 1 cupwater
  • 1/2 teaspoonsalt
  • 2 Tablespoonsvegetable oil
  • 2 quartsvegetable oil
  • 1 cupall-purpose flour
For the chocolate sauce:
  • 3 1/2 ouncesdark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cupheavy cream

MAKE THE CHURROS:
Combine 1/2 cup sugar with the cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Set aside. Line a plate with paper towels.
In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the water, 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar, salt and 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Bring the mixture to a boil then remove it from the heat. Stir in the flour, mixing until it forms a ball.
Heat 3 to 4 inches of vegetable oil in a large, heavy-bottomed pot set over medium-high heat until it reaches 375ºF. (There should be a minimum of 3 inches above the oil to prevent it from bubbling over.)
Transfer the dough to a cloth pastry bag or heavy-duty plastic bag fitted with a large star tip.
Pipe the dough over the pot of oil to a length of about 4 inches, then using scissors or a sharp knife, cut it so it releases into the oil. (Stand back to avoid any splatters.) Pipe two to three churros into the oil at a time, frying them until they're golden brown and cooked through. Transfer the churros to the paper towel-lined plate to drain for 2 minutes, then roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Repeat the frying and coating process with the remaining dough.
Serve the churros with the warm chocolate sauce (recipe below).
MAKE THE CHOCOLATE SAUCE:
Place the chopped chocolate in a small bowl.
Warm the heavy cream in small saucepan. (Do not let it boil.) Pour the heavy cream over the chopped chocolate. Let it sit for 1 minute then stir to combine.

oh so pretty

Feeling oh so pretty is huge... Every woman understands what I mean. Lately {for the past few weeks}, I've been journaling when I wake up. This might sound silly to some, but I actually look forward to doing it before I start my day. I write my wishes and wants {goals} in life down and write about loving myself {curves, frustration, silliness and all}! Try it... It's interesting and slightly liberating! A hot cup of coffee in one hand and a journal in another. Loving yourself is very powerful. As my therapist once told me... Claim it to tame it! Get your thoughts out of your mind and on paper so you can see how to break down your problem{s} or how to achieve your goal{s}. These pictures bring beauty to my mind. Maybe it's the pink, but each image shows a feminine touch and elegance. Simplicity at its finest... Oh so pretty!
