neutral palette

I'm such a neutral kind of girl. I like things very simple and very calm. I feel that starting with beige, cream and tans... You have room to add pops of color later on in the project. Don't get me wrong I love color... Especially blues, yellows an pops of red... But I love just starting with the basics! I'm in the beginning stages of decorating a living room and dining room right now. So of course when I saw this living room my heart skipped a beat! Ha Ha you all know the direction I'm going towards {wink}... And I love it!

A home is so personal... I begin by listening to my clients wishes and wants and take tons of notes and pictures. After the meeting I like to transfer all the notes I've written onto the computer to my clients file. Then I have a go to reference for any questions that I might have in the future when I am designing. I feel that's the ticket to success when you listen to what your client wants... I say this all the time, "I'm not living in your home... You are. I want to make you happy!"

So what doe all think of this neutral palette?

simple

I've seen a lot of kitchens.. I really mean a lot. Some old... Some new. Every time I see a kitchen I'm always intrigued by something. It's either the island and cabinet color, to the counter top... Even the hidden coffee bar... Key word "hidden"... So fun! I do make a mental note and then make sure I try it in a kitchen I'm designing. I'm attracted to the dark floors with the white cabinets and open shelving! Definitely no fuss and simple looking. I have a thing for organization so of course this kitchen caught my attention. It was winking at me when I was pinning! Look how adorable the little cafe curtains are... Very plain {in a good way}, but extremely attractive! I could see my kids running around in this kitchen...

meal prepping

Hi! Hi! Hi!

Usually I do all of my meal prepping and market shopping on Sunday mornings, but my daughter and I ended up on a cleaning spree {kids want to have a garage sale to make money}... Turned trail run/walk together.  To be honest with you... It was the absolute perfect day! Oh It ended with making homemade chocolate chip cookies and doing manicures. Not a bad Sunday at all... Loved every minute of it!  What did you do yesterday... Would love to hear!

genius

Ok I'm just going to come out and call it like I see it... This is pure "genius"! Besides the fireplace in the kitchen I posted {here}... A lounge area in your home gym. Man Oh Man I sure could see myself in this gym! Picture this, you've run 5 miles, lifted tons of weights and did your squats... All you would need to do was plop right down in one of those cozy English rolled arm chairs and call it a day! If your kids wanted to talk to you... All you would have to say is oh honey, just sit next to mommy and we can chat! I'm resting... I'm sure a huge flat screen tv is in front of those chairs. I so love this! What do you think? Love or Hate?

by the fire

Yes Please! I would love a fireplace in my kitchen... How cozy would that be?!?! Wouldn't you want to just sip your coffee, read the paper or even pay bills next to it. Ahhh what a life! I'm pretty sure I would forget to go outside {wink}. I only have a few requests for my next home. A fireplace and a bathtub. That's it... I'm a pretty simple lady!

prepared

{my little baby will always be this little to me... 6 years old}

So as I was driving to pick up my kids from school the other day... A million things were swimming through my brain {typical}. Work, life, dinner and kids. Taylor kept popping in and out of my brain from that moment on. She's at the age now that she's becoming a little lady. In a few months she will be  turning 10 years old {oh my gosh}. She's getting taller, showing more attitude, little moody, developing physically and thinking differently about people and things... So as a mother you always want to protect your little babies from anything and everything because kids can be cruel at this age {really at any age}.  Some kids unfortunately  do not have a filter... And just say what's on their minds. Yikes! Taylor's now  staring to noticing smells on her body and other kids bodies as well. I'm trying to discuss with her that she can be in control of how she presents herself. All of this is totally normal... Definitely the fun process of growing up. Good times! So I had an idea to always keep her prepared and semi protected! I decided to make her a little safety bag that she can keep in her backpack. This is super simple to make... One quick little trip to Target and done! Hopefully this emergency kit will put her mind at ease so she can still be a kid... Not going to lie I wish my mom had done something like this when I was in school. I think it would have definitely solved all my problems {wink}! Just kidding mom... I was fine!

1.) Baby Wipes... If your armpits start to smell use a baby wipe to clean them. So the odor goes away.

2.) Mouthwash... In a hurry and need to have fresh breath. Swish and go!

3.) Deoterant... We all need extra armpit protection when we're active. These little kids are always on the go and moving!

4.) Altoids... Can't leave the class room and your breath smells like Darth Vader. Pop a mint!

5.) Mini travel toothbrush... If you have food stuck in your teeth from lunch... Excuse yourself and brush your teeth fast
{you can even hide in a stall... so no one sees you}.

6.) Toothpaste... You can always put a little toothpaste in your mouth and rub it around with your tongue. No one will ever know!

If you have a little girl I would recommend  this... Hmmmm now I need to create something for Mr. Ryan.  Ahhh man that's a whole different ballgame.  hahah
