so blessed...

Happy Thanksgiving

rustic rooster interiors wants to thank you all for the care and support everyone has shown us for the past 15 years {huge smile}! The last two years my family has been tested so much that your love has helped us stay strong and conquer forward in life and in business. If you all weren't in our lives I don't think the rooster would have made it! No joke! They do say... God only gives us what we can handle in life. We're handling it and moving forward because of your kind words and fabulous coffee dates {wink}. We are truly blessed for each and everyone of you... Thank you. Thank you, Thank you!

I am thankful for!

1.) My children...
{I was blessed with the most beautiful kids in the world... Yes, I have challenging days, but that's normal as a mom. Taylor and Ryan remind me everyday how truly lucky I am. They listen to me and comfort me when I need extra love and strength! My eyes are wide open and I'm learning so much through each of them! Life is too precious... I will hold onto these little ones forever! Truly, I don't know what I would do if I didn't have them... Taylor and Ryan mommy loves you so much! Thank you!}

2.) My mom...
{You have been by my side from day one... Your honest love and support has helped me through my darkest times. You have never let me down... You build me up and I love you so much for that! When something happens you look at the bright side and steer the boat the other way! You are my rock... Remember I will always be by your side... Forever! Thank you!}

3.) My brother...
{WOW... We're only 14 months apart and I love it! The fire inside me stays lit because of you. Nick, I love how you make me sit on the other side of the room and really think! You know I am spitfire... Thank you for slowing me down and making me remember there's always two sides to a story! Plus... You have a such a kind heart. You always stop what you are doing just to help me and my kids.  Taylor and Ryan love your patience and strength that you show them daily. You help them so much it brings tears to my eyes. Thank you!}

4.) My health...
{I did lose a lot of weight from my 2 years of craziness. I'm luck that I didn't get sick in the process. I have never felt better internally and externally. My health is what makes me go forward and realize that my kids see what i'm doing. So every day I try and show them to exercise and eat healthy. I feel that you can change your health... All it takes is starting small and slow. You can do it! I'm trying so hard to keep up my exercise routine and feel good about me! Thank you!}

5.) My business...
{You have seen the ups and downs with the economy... You've been loved to death... You have been yelled at... And slightly neglected, but over all you have never shut the doors on us! 15 years and growing strong, baby! I have felt every emotion with my business... Not going to lie this is basically having a 3rd child. You have let me explore what I've wanted to do in my work and let me! Even if you know I'm going in the wrong direction... You bend and let it happen. Thank you!}

I am truly thankful for or all that I have! I wouldn't give it up for the world... Thank you!

{my} house of the day

Oh you're so pretty... You stand so tall and elegant! I wish I could go inside and see what you're really all about! Your siding  and black shutters tell me that you're pretty important! I can hear the clanking of diner plates being set, music softly playing in the back ground and little ones giggling as Baxter the dog rolls in the dirt! Ahhh the life of a grand home! Yes, you are definitely my house of the day! We need more houses like this here in Southern California {hint hint}! Shine bright pretty house... Shine bright!

about

{10 things about me}

1.)I stopped drinking Diet Coke 1 and 1/2 years ago and haven't gone back. It actually grosses me out now... I was truly addicted, then went cold turkey because I heard about it causing seizures. No thanks!

2.)When I get upset I go for a run or go to the gym! My father taught me to get my frustration out the correct way... By sweating it out. Never keep it bottled in. That's not healthy!

3.)I can't draw worth my life... You would think as an Interior Designer I could... Think again... NOPE!

4.)I'm allergic to cats and dogs. I hug people who have animals and start sneezing. I hate that!

5.)I do not dye my hair... I'm a natural redhead! My daughter and brother are redheads .. My dad was too!

6.) I used to work for Jeffrey Alan Marks in La Jolla... {Million Dollar Decorators}. I was in College at SDSU... Interned within his office and then got hired on. Jeffrey was the best boss ever!

7.)I'm in love with organizing and eliminating... I guess that's the Virgo in me. Be careful...  You leave it out, it's gone!

8.} Shhhhhh I love Coors Light and Bud Light. Don't judge! It's something about the bubbles. lol

9.) I gave birth to my 2nd child, Ryan,  in 13 minutes all natural. Bamn... That's what I'm talking about!

10.)I love the East Coast! Everything about it makes me feel at home... One day I hope to move there!

dare to be different {interior design}

I'm going up to my old stomping ground next week for some sourcing for a new client. I can't stop thinking of all the different homes I'm going to pass by and fabulous showrooms I'm going to go too! Getting out of town and going somewhere new and different always helps my mind pull together a new project! My creative juices start flowing even more... I love the wow factor of a change! I was born and raised in a beautiful little part of Los Angeles called Toluca Lake. You have a variety of homes big and small... But nothing looks the same. The style of each home is so mesmerizing. You can't stop looking!  I'll say it like my father said it... No cookie cutter homes! So I do like taking on projects that help my clients completely transform their cookie cutter boxes... Interior and exterior to a one of a kind home. Hey, I dare you to be different... You might like it!

Don't be afraid of a little POC {pop of color}! Today my favorite Pindler and Pindler fabric rep stopped by and I couldn't help but notice her fabulous bright shoes. Love!  It's Friday so get crazy and have fun! What's your favorite POC... Shoes, accessories, jewelry, bags... What is it?

tbt {interior design}

I love looking back at this guest bathroom I designed a few years ago... My team and I wanted to achieve a classic coastal statement with a vintage twist. I think we did just that. Traditional toile wallpaper with vintage accents. I found this mirror from my showroom and picked out a high gloss paint to match the blue in the wallpaper. Starting with a blank slate is so much fun... So yes, the sky was the limit here!  Taking something very classic, but putting a twist on it made the WOW factor fabulous when guests entered this bathroom! I would do it again in a heartbeat...

the chill is here {interior design}

Are you wearing a sweater today? I sure am! I absolutely love putting on sweaters... Not going to lie, I hate the sneezing that comes with it. Why does this happen? It's like clockwork, I put a sweater on and bamn I can't stop sneezing! It must be a Southern California thing... Since we don't wear sweaters that much,  the dust just builds up in our closets.  Hate that... But yes the chill is finally here! Now, it's time to go apple picking, read books by the fire, make yummy soup and drink tons of hot coco... In our sweaters! Plus, I do notice in my interior design I start to select warmer and more cozy tones for my clients homes. Changing up your home for the season is such a great idea. You can add apples to bowls, a rustic orange throw on your couch to warm textured pillows on your bed. It can be that simple... I have a client that I've been working with for over 7 years. She now only calls me to refresh her home at the beginning of each season. I added all her key permanent ingredients... {sofa, rugs, tables, chairs... and lighting}. The accessories can now be changed out very easily!  She's so much fun to work with! Have fun and try something new... Even if it means just start with a seasonal bouquet of flowers and a cozy sweater!

Good luck
